Die mond loop oor
'Wat die hart van vol is, loop die mond van oor' - Luke 6:45 (Afrikaans Bible)
I have finally decided that it's time to post something again. I think I've been wrestling a bit internally with the idea that you must be 100% sure of what you want to say before you say it on a blog, but I have decided that that's nonsense.
As with all of you my head is constantly full of thoughts, ideas, worries, stresses. I have finally concluded that I'm a thinker... or maybe a dreamer... or maybe someone with his head in the clouds. I have however made a peace with this but also battled with the many consequences of it. 2 major consequences are that I firstly sometimes disappear off into a distant head space far away from society, and secondly that I take a long time to make decisions.
So, something I've been mulling over and have settled upon is this:
We all are always speaking from the place we're currently at! Sounds weird I know, but whenever we communicate it's always out of today/now's thoughts/mind. That communication is made up of a lot of things going through your head, your current mulling as well as your 'current location'.
Yes, obviously you bring with your experience of the past, but it is essentially filtered through today and now.
What I want to say is it's important to speak, it's important to speak your mind. It's important to share not just because your 2 cents matters and can matter a great deal, but because it truly is a joy to witness the journey that you yourself are on (because sometimes you feel like a spectator to your own story) and others!
I love this portion of scripture, because no matter what worldview you are it's true for you and it's true for me. Also, it rolls off the tongue much better than the English version in my opinion.
